Consider kayak tours a quality learning experience you wouldn’t be able to have by yourself.  The amount of money you end up paying depends on how long you’re going to be gone and the distance you will travel.  The conditions you’re going to travel in also may have an effect on the price.  Companies that host these tours need to factor insurance costs into their overall budget.  Tour leaders will give out liability waivers to clear them of any blame in case something happens.  If a lawsuit comes around, they can point to the form and get out it right away.  Adventurers who go for these trips are more than willing to take the risk, so this isn’t going to be a big issue for them.
